Enlarged or open pores on the skin (especially the face) are a problem for millions of people around the world. It is more common in people with greasy skin and is usually brought on by a variety of factors. Genetics, poor diet, sun damage, and aging can all enlarge your pores and make you look bad.
The pores on our skin are essentially detox channels that eliminate perspiration and toxins from the skin. Although pretty small and impossible to be seen with the naked eye, pores grow as we age.
This may be accelerated by the aforementioned factors. When enlarged, you can bet that your pores will be visible.
You can’t just shrink the pores down and make them return to normal size. However, there are plenty of natural remedies which can fix the problem effectively and without harming the health of your skin.
The following remedies can close your pores and improve the health of your skin in just 3 days. Try them yourself and you’ll be amazed by the results.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
- ¼ cup of ACV
- ¼ cup of witch hazel extract
- 3-4 drops of lemon oil
It’s easy – just mix the ingredients in a small spray bottle and shake well. To use the skin toner, wash your face with a mild soap first, then spray it on your face. Leave it to dry, then wash your face with lukewarm water once again and apply a high-quality moisturizer (preferably with coconut oil) in the end.
Raw ACV is a very powerful remedy loaded with nutrients that can balance your skin and close your enlarged pores. Of course, for it to work, you’ll need to use 100% raw organic apple cider vinegar.
2. Egg White Mask
- 1 egg white
- 1 tablespoon of oatmeal
- 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice
Whisk the egg white until it foams, then add the lemon juice in and the oatmeal in the end. Mix well until you get a paste, then apply it gently on your face. Leave it to dry out for 20 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water. For best results, use the mask 3 times per week.
Egg whites are full of albumin and protein, two compounds that can close your enlarged pores and keep your skin wrinkle-free. This mask is especially great for people with oily skin as it can control the production of sebum.
3. Aloe Vera Moisturizer
- Organic Aloe Vera gel (if possible fresh)
Aloe Vera has been used against a variety of skin problems for centuries. It’s one of the best skin remedies as it helps the skin cells regenerate.
Fresh Aloe gel can hydrate and regenerate your skin while also reducing the visibility of your skin pores.
To use it, simply massage the gel on your face and leave it to work overnight. When you get up in the morning, wash your face with cold water. It will help shrink the pores and balance your skin’s sebum production.
Since Aloe Vera doesn’t have any side-effects, you can repeat this process every day until your pores get smaller. Be careful, though – going out in sunny weather is not recommended when you apply the gel on your face. Also, you should avoid using Aloe Vera if you have a surgery schedule or you’re breastfeeding.
